Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009000550A2] The invention relates to an implant (1) comprising a base (2) that has a surface (5, 6), and a coating (7) which is composed of nanoparticles (8) and is applied to at least some sections of the surface (5, 6) of the base (2). The base (2) is made of a material that has a metal mesh structure while the nanoparticles (8) of the coating (7) contain a material which also has a metal mesh structure. Said implant is characterized in that the mesh structure of the material of the nanoparticles (8) is compatible with the mesh structure of the material of the base (2) in such a way that the two materials can be joined together using a diffusion process, particularly a diffusion joining process. The invention further relates to a method for producing such an implant. Said production method makes it possible, among other things, to simultaneously coat a plurality of implants (1) in "mild" process conditions.
