[origin: WO2009003554A1] A rail crane (7) for transporting rails (6) is equipped with a crane pillar (8) and a crane jib (9) fastened thereon with a crane trolley (10), which is capable of being moved by a drive (13) in the longitudinal direction of the crane jib. Said crane trolley has running rollers (11), which are capable of rolling on jib rails (12), a vertically adjustable load chain (16) and a drive gearwheel (14), which is in engagement with a toothed rack (15). The load chain (16) is positioned on a front end (17) of the crane trolley (10), which front end is distanced with respect to the mentioned longitudinal direction from the crane pillar (8), while the drive gearwheel (14) is arranged at a rear end (18) positioned closer to the crane pillar (8).
