[origin: EP2172280A2] The cleaning device (100) has a cleaning band (11), which is designed as adhesive band. The adhesive band is provided with an adhesive layer on a sticking side aligned to a punching cylinder (10). The sticking side of the adhesive band acts on the punching cylinder for cleaning it. An independent claim is included for an automatic method for cleaning a punching cylinder of a production line for labels or other blanks with a self-adhesive layer.
