[origin: EP2172379A1] The chair (1) has pivot mechanism (17) and seat (9) which is provided on a frame (4). The seat has seat portion (31) having seat surface (10), and a backrest (11) having backrest surface (12). The seat portion has a rear edge (13) associated with backrest and a front edge (14) which is provided opposed to rear edge. The seat surface is pivoted through pivot mechanism. An independent claim is included for method of operating chairlift.
