[origin: EP2172411A1] The elevator system (101) has an elevator shaft (104) with a lower shaft door (103.0) and an upper shaft door (103.1), each with a shaft door base (120) and one or two shaft door wings (109.0,109.1). An elevator cabin (105) is provided for the transport of passengers, where a cabin door (106) and a cabin floor (112) are provided. The cabin door or the shaft door wings are blocked when the elevator cabin is located outside a normal stop position.
