[origin: WO2009016011A1] The invention relates to a method for the arrangement of printing blocks (07, 08) on a plate cylinder (03)of a printing machine, each of the printing blocks being located at one of a plurality of mounting locations located adjacent to each other in the axial direction of the plate cylinder, each of the printing blocks being stored in a storage device comprising storage positions located adjacent to and offset from each other at a fixed distance in the axial direction of the plate cylinder prior to the arrangement of said printing blocks at one of the mounting locations of the plate cylinder, the plate cylinder and/or the storage device being displaced axially relative to each other by a positioning distance, such that said displacement arranges a printing block to be arranged on the plate cylinder at a mounting location located adjacent to the mounting location of another printing block already located there or still to be located there, at a distance (S) reduced relative to the distance (A) between two adjacent storage positions of the storage device.
