[origin: WO2009000740A2] The heating device, e.g., a cooking stove, has at least one heating/cooking position, the heat source of which, for reasons of safety, is automatically shut off by means of a time switch device after a prespecified heating period following activation. According to the invention, when a heat source is switched on, the time switch device is set to a prespecified short regulated heating period which is the same for all heat sources. All heat sources are switched off according to this procedure, wherein the prespecified regulated heating period can preferably be changed only by manually activating another safety heating period.
