[origin: EP2175062A1] A method for cleansing domestic lye from washing/cleaning machines provided with a container (2) for washing or cleaning domestic items, such as washing or crockery, by using lyes mainly comprised of water and surfactant-containing washing materials. A fresh water supply (17), a lye pump (6) and a waste water outlet (7) for an outlet pump line (8) are included. The surfactant contained on the lye is broken down by a catalyst and the residual non-dissolved materials still held in the lye are filtered out. An independent claim is included for a washing- or cleaning-machine.
