The manipulator (2) and the corner folding unit (10) are intercoupled for control, the corner folding unit (10) being controlled depending on the movements of the manipulator (2) and folding the corner areas on the workpiece, the straight or less curved areas of the web to be folded (40) being folded by the manipulator (2).
