[origin: WO2009000514A1] The invention relates to a vehicle restraint system (10) for limiting roadways, comprising a base beam (12) extending along a longitudinal axis (A), said base beam extending upward starting from a base (U), and a guide profile (16), extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis (A) and being connected or connectible to the base beam (12). The base beam (12) and the guide profile (16) have closed profiles and are interconnected via a connecting zone (7) in which the base beam (12) and the guide profile (16) are coupled via a connector, thereby stabilizing the structure.
