[origin: WO2009003458A1] The invention relates to a fitting having a first fitting part and having a second fitting part which is coupled in an articulated manner and connected releasably or non-releasably to the latter, wherein a deceleration device with an activation element is arranged on one of the fitting parts. To this end, the fitting comprises an actuating element which can be pivoted relative to the fitting part supporting the deceleration device and which is connected in an articulated manner or rigidly to the other fitting part in each case. The fitting furthermore comprises a gear mechanism which is arranged on the fitting part supporting the deceleration device and which transfers the pivoting movement of the actuating element into a translatory movement of at least one gear-mechanism part. At least one gear-mechanism part which moves in a translatory manner directly or indirectly actuates the deceleration device. A fitting having a deceleration device with a long service life is developed by the present invention.
