Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009018905A1] The invention relates to a subcaliber shot (1; 1'), particularly for a flechette (2; 2'), having a resistance-stabilizing, conically designed guide mechanism (4; 4') having a frustrum-shaped recess (5), wherein a guide cage (7, 7') has a substantially hollow cylindrical design in which a propulsion element (8; 80) is integrated into the guide cage (7) on the rear side. In order to allow the propulsion element (8; 80) to be producible in a simple fashion and the guide cage (7; 7') to have a lighter weight than comparable known drive cages, the invention proposes that the propulsion element (8; 80) be designed substantially only as a disk-shaped metal plate extending transverse to the longitudinal axis (9) of the guide cage (7), said drive element being mounted on the edge in an annular groove-shaped recess (10) of the inner wall of the guide cage (7), which is preferably made of plastic, wherein the disk-shaped metal plate (8, 8') comprises a central through hole (11), the diameter (12) of which is as large as possible, but smaller than the maximum diameter (13) of the fustrum-shaped recess (5) of the guide mechanism (4; 4').
