The mattress system (100) has a lower spring system (1), a foam support (2) and a cover (4), where the support is arranged at the lower spring system in a form-fit manner. The support has an extension (2b) which is pointing downwards at two opposite-lying sides, where the extension passes around the lower spring system in a lateral manner. The lower spring system has a crossbar with supporting elements, where the supporting elements are elastically deformable, and have glass fiber profiles.
