The engine (1) has a piston (3) arranged in a cylinder (2) along a running surface (21). A lubrication system (5) is provided for lubricating the cylinder and comprises two lubricating points (6). A lubricant is applied to the running surface via the points. A lubricant supply (8) conveys the lubricant from a lubricant reservoir (10) to the points. The lubricant supply exhibits a pump nozzle unit (7) that is arranged at the points. The nozzle unit comprises a pump (72) that is connected with the points, so that the nozzle unit supplies lubricant to the points.

Es wird ein Grossdieselmotor vorgeschlagen mit mindestens einem Zylinder (2), der eine Bohrung (B) und eine Längsachse (A) aufweist, und in welchem ein Kolben (3) entlang einer Lauffläche (21) hin und her bewegbar angeordnet ist, wobei ein Schmiersystem (5) für die Zylinderschmierung vorgesehen ist, welches mindestens zwei Schmierstellen (6) umfasst, über die ein Schmiermittel auf die Lauffläche (21) aufbringbar ist, sowie eine Schmiermittelzuführung (8) zur Förderung des Schmiermittels von einem Schmiermittelvorrat (10) zu den Schmierstellen (6). Die Schmiermittelzuführung (8) weist mindestens eine Pumpe-Düse-Einheit (7) auf, die an den Schmierstellen (6) angeordnet ist, wobei jede Pumpe-Düse-Einheit (7) eine Pumpe (72) umfasst, die mit höchsten zwei Schmierstellen (6) verbunden ist, sodass jede Pumpe-Düse-Einheit (7) höchstens zwei Schmierstellen (6) mit Schmiermittel versorgt..
