[origin: WO2009006746A1] Described is a hand strap (1) for a stick or pole, particularly preferably for an Alpine skiing pole, a Nordic walking pole, a Nordic skiing pole or a walking stick, comprising a threading-in opening (4) for the hand, a first exit opening (3) for the back of the hand and a thumb exit opening (2), wherein the hand strap (1) is secured to a pole or stick grip at least indirectly via a strip (19) led between the thumb and the other fingers, and wherein the hand strap (1) includes a variably fixable first fastening device in the region between the threading-in opening (4) for the hand and the first exit opening (3) for the back of the hand. The hand strap is characterized in that it has a web (11) between the threading-in opening (4) and the thumb exit opening (2), which web (11) includes not only an elastic expanding region (13) but also a non-elastic region (14).
