Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009010424A2] The invention relates to a device for producing consumible ice cubes, comprising at least one immersion element (46) provided with a conductive ice adhesion surface (46a), and a refrigerating appliance (34). The immersion element (46) is designed to be immersed, by the ice adhesion surface (46a) thereof, into a consumible liquid (58). The refrigerating appliance (34) is structurally connected to the immersion element (46) and comprises a pre-defined heat transport device for cooling down at least the ice adhesion surface (46a) to a freezing temperature of the liquid (58) such that, when the immersion element (46) is immersed, the liquid (58) located in the close surroundings of the ice adhesion surface (58) can be frozen, and an ice cube can be formed from some of the liquid (58) on the ice adhesion surface (46a).
