[origin: WO2009024468A2] The invention relates to a method for displaying information by means of a display (1) mounted in a motor vehicle. According to said method, a user interface device (2) produces graphics data which control the display (1) in such a way that it displays a graphical object in which a display content (5) is reproduced according a defined scale, a pixel (6) of the display (1) is selected by means of an input device (4), and a line (8) is then drawn on the display (1) from said pixel (6). The method according to the invention is characterised in that the scale of the display content (5) is modified according to the length of the line (8). The invention also relates to a display device for a motor vehicle, by which means said method can be carried out.
