The cylinder (1) comprises a wall (2), whose surface forms a guide area, a piston (3) that is movably arranged along the guide area in back and forth manner and limits a combustion chamber (4), and a sacrificial anode, which is arranged such that it protects the guide area from corrosion. The sacrificial anode is equipped on the piston and is arranged as circular band, which encloses the piston in circumference direction. A circumferential groove is equipped as dovetail grooves to the piston, in which the sacrificial anode is arranged. The piston has piston rings (31) over an electrically conductive element such as spring element connected with the piston, which biases the sacrificial anode in the direction of the guide area. The sacrificial anode is equipped at the side of the piston rings removable from the combustion chamber. The sacrificial anodes are provided in the wall of the cylinder, extend up to the guide area and are distributed over the circumference of the wall of the cylinder.

Es wird ein Zylinder für einen Grossdieselmotor vorgeschlagen mit einer Wandung (2), deren Oberfläche eine Lauffläche (21) bildet und mit einem Kolben (3), der entlang der Lauffläche (21) hin und her bewegbar angeordnet ist und einen Brennraum (4) begrenzt. Es ist mindestens eine Opferanode (32) vorgesehen, welche so angeordnet ist, dass sie die Lauffläche (21) vor Korrosion schützt.
