[origin: EP2184147A2] The device (1) has a strand cutting device that is movable front and back by a longitudinal drive with the speed of a conveyor device in a conveying direction. A supporting part supports a longitudinal section (3a) of a strand (3). The supporting part is longitudinally adjacent to a transverse slot and longitudinally adjustable and re-adjustable via a supporting part-adjusting device. The supporting part is laid on a cross beam (24), where the supporting part-adjusting device is operatable between the cross beam and the supporting part.
