[origin: WO2009030461A1] The invention relates to a device and a method for conveying a paper web, comprising a longitudinal cutter in order to cut a paper web conveyed in a conveying direction into at least one first partial web and a second partial web. The invention further provides a support component disposed in the conveying direction after the longitudinal cutter and supporting at least one section of the first partial web and at least one section of the second partial web such that a movement of the first partial web and of the second partial web in a direction transverse to the conveying direction is substantially blocked, and that a movement of the first partial web and of the second partial web in the conveying direction is substantially unobstructed.
