[origin: WO2009144005A1] The invention provides iron effect pigments that have a thickness distribution, determined via thickness counting using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), as cumulative undersize distribution with a) an h50 value from 10 to 55 nm and b) an h90 value from 20 to 80 nm, and also a process for their production and also the use of the iron effect pigments. The invention further provides a printing ink that contains the iron effect pigments of the invention.
