[origin: WO2009027215A1] The invention relates to a control valve for actuating a control chamber (20) of a fuel injector. The control valve (30) comprises a guide pin (31) and a valve sleeve (32), which is guided on the guide pin (31) with a guide diameter d in an axially displaceable manner and which pushes against a valve seat (33) configured on the guide pin (31). The valve sleeve (32) has a higher stiffness in the region of the valve seat section (49) than in the region of a guide section (48) such that an expansion (50) of a guide gap (39) on the valve sleeve (32) occurs when high pressure is applied to an annular chamber (36), said expansion being substantially limited to the region of the guide section (48) and forming a pressure stage (51) on the guide diameter d of the valve sleeve (32) at that location.
