Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2031747A1] The method involves determining and storing values of start energy during a ramp-up of an asynchronous machine (101) from an ideal state to a operating speed. The asynchronous machine is braked in a reverse operation with a braking energy that corresponds to the start energy multiplied with a correction factor. The correction factor takes a value between 0 and 1, and further braking of the asynchronous machine takes place by direct current (DC) brakes after braking the machine in the reverse operation.
