[origin: EP2186426A1] The device has a baffle plate (6) for deflecting a filter tow strip (4). The plate divides a transport path into two path sections, where one path section is arranged at an angle opposite to the other path section and aligned on a filter manufacturing machine (22). The plate is movably supported around a rotational axis and lies parallel to or falls together with the former section. The plate has a curved upper side forming a curved guide surface. A support (8) supports the plate and includes a base that is movable along a web enclosing the former section.
