[origin: EP2187419A2] The switch (2) has a switch-off button (12) for actuation of a tilting mechanism (20). The tilting mechanism presses a contact element (32) against a counter contact element (34). The tilting mechanism has a locking device for generation and retention of contact pressure between the contact elements. The contact elements are used during actuation of the tilting mechanism by a switch-on button (10). The mechanism has tilting elements pivoted relative to each other. The mechanism forms a form-fit connection in a locking position of the mechanism to control pivoting of the tilting elements. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting and/or disconnecting contacts by a relay switch.
