[origin: WO2009027315A1] The invention relates to a displaceable device (2) for working on preferably flat surfaces (1), in particular for cleaning windows. Said displaceable device is formed as an autonomous unit (2) provided with a cleaning part and a suction device for producing low pressure between the device and the surface (1), as well as a safety device that prevents the device from detaching from the surface that is to be worked on and from falling. A monitoring device detects the adjustable differential pressure produced by the suction unit and said monitoring unit takes counteractive measures to secure the device in case the predetermined pressure differential threshold value is lower.
