[origin: WO2009021646A1] The invention relates to a method for sorting bulk material (10) from a first position (X) to a plurality of target positions (A; B; C; D), wherein the bulk material (20) is picked up by a robot (20) at a first position (X) and is transferred to a second position (A; B; C; D) by a controller of the robot (20). After pick-up by the robot (20) the bulk material (10) is guided past a reading unit (30), which reads an identification means (11) on the bulk material (10) and reads out the information contained in the identification means (11). A target position (A; B; C; D) is determined for the respective bulk material (10) based on the information read, upon which the detected target position (A; B; C; D) is processed by a controller of the robot (20) and the robot transfers the respective bulk material (10) to the target position determined. The invention further relates to a device for carrying out the method according to the invention.
