The machine has a stitching head for stitching signatures at a downtime. A finger strip device (50) has a finger strip (510) for gradual transport of collected signatures from a transfer point of a collecting section to a delivery station through a stitching station. A stitching head comprises a drive for forming and driving a wire clamp. The strip device comprises another drive that impresses an oscillating movement on the finger strip. The strip device comprises a third drive that causes opening and closing of fingers (512) of the finger strip. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a gathering and stitching machine.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Sammelhefter (1) zum Zusammentragen von Signaturen (14, 16, 18, 20), umfassend eine Sammelstrecke (34), eine Heftstation (24) und eine Auslegestation (29), wobei die Heftstation (24) eine Fingerleisteneinrichtung (50) mit einer Fingerleiste (510) zum schrittweisen Transport der Signaturen (30) und mindestens einen Heftkopf (26) zum Heften der Signaturen (30) im Stillstand aufweist. Der mindestens eine Heftkopf (26) besitzt einen Einzelantrieb (1001). Die Fingerleisteneinrichtung (50) besitzt erfindungsgemäß einen ersten Antrieb (515), welcher der Fingerleiste (510) eine oszillierende Bewegung aufprägt, und einen zweiten Antrieb (501), welcher ein Öffnen und Schließen von Fingern (512) der Fingerleiste (510) bewirkt.
