Abstract (en)
The cage has an upper bridge (10) and a lower bridge (12) connected by connection units e.g. spacers (18, 19). An intermediate bridge (14) is placed between the upper and lower bridges. The upper and lower bridges include a pivot (32) for pivoting the cage along a pivoting axis, where the cage receives an anchor, a balance-beam having radius, and an escape mechanism comprising an escape wheel. One of the connection units is arranged, relative to the pivoting axis, at a distance less than the radius of the balance-beam. An independent claim is also included for a tourbillon mechanism comprising an arm connecting an axle of a balance-beam with a felloe.

Cage de tourbillon (4) comportant un pont supérieur (10) et un pont inférieur (12), lesdits ponts supérieur (10) et inférieur (12) comprenant des moyens de pivotement (32) de la cage selon un axe AA, et étant reliés par des moyens de liaison (18,19), ladite cage (4) étant destinée à recevoir un balancier (1) de rayon R et un mécanisme d'échappement comprenant une roue d'échappement (3) et éventuellement une ancre (5). Au moins l'un desdits moyens de liaison (18,19) est disposé, par rapport à l'axe AA, à une distance inférieure au rayon R du balancier (1).
