[origin: WO2009015781A2] The specification describes and illustrates a marking object having at least one object carrier (2) and at least one object benefit (3) held by the object carrier (2), wherein the object benefit (3) can be marked by a marking apparatus (7). It is an object of the present invention to configure such marking objects such that the drawbacks known for the use thereof are used - at least in part. The invention achieves the indicated object first of all and essentially by virtue of the object carrier (2) comprising at least one identification means (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d), wherein the identification means (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) contains at least one piece of information relating to the marking object (1) and/or the identification means (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) can be used to store at least one piece of information relating to the marking object (1).
