[origin: GB2450900A] A vehicle auxiliary manoeuvring device comprises drive units that raise the main wheels 14 of the vehicle off the ground and drive wheels or tracks 6 are used to move the vehicle sideways, as shown, or forwards and backwards. A strut 11 limits downwards movement of the stub axle 15 to keep the wheel above the ground. The wheel may also be raised by electronic, hydraulic or air pressure means, or by a cable and pulley system.
