Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009037070A1] The invention relates to a method for regulating the combustion position in an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders, in particular a diesel internal combustion engine, wherein at least one engine operating parameter is detected. In order to make accurate combustion-position regulation possible with low expenditure, there is provision for a cylinder-selective combustion-position model (15) to be provided which is arithmetic or based on characteristic curves and produces a relationship between at least one determined engine operating parameter and the combustion position, and for the combustion position to be determined on the basis of the determined engine operating parameter by means of the combustion-position model (15) for each cylinder (x).
