[origin: FR2921935A1] Use of a screening process for identifying candidate molecules for treating respiratory disorders in a mammal, where the screening process comprises determining whether the functional activity of TASK-2 ion-channel polypeptide in the presence of test molecule is reduced or eliminated with respect to the functional activity of the TASK-2 ion-channel in the absence of the test molecule, then the test molecule is considered as a candidate molecule when it removes or reduces the functional activity, is claimed.
