Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009024339A2] The invention relates to an input device for an electronic data processing system. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution for considerably facilitating mouse oriented input operations during the use of electronic data processing devices. According to the invention, the aim is solved by a computer mouse with a housing device and a displacement detection device for generating control data, correlating with the displacement of the housing device into a X- and a Y-axial direction, and a hand detection device for generating control data, correlation with the position and/or the finger movements of a hand compared to the housing device before the computer mouse is gripped. Thus, an advantageous way is provided, to perform input operations with a computer mouse, particularly cursor control, in an improved way in an intuitively good way.
