Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2194254A2] The cover has a chain (1a), a timing gear (2a) and two driving gears (3a, 4a) for opening and closing valves of an engine, where the chain transmits rotation of a crankshaft to multiple camshafts. An opening mounts the chain and gears in an interior of the cover, and is closed in a sealed manner by closure units when the chain and the gears are mounted. Size and shape of the cover same as that of the opening are determined to take into account specific characteristics of the chain to receive the chain or a belt.
