[origin: WO2009047137A1] The invention relates to a wiper system (1) for a motor vehicle, with a mounting pipe (2) comprising a mounting region (13) having a cross-sectional contour that at least in sections deviates from a circular shape, and further having a drive unit (10) fixed on the mounting pipe (2) in the mounting region (13) thereof for the reciprocating drive of at least one wiper shaft (7, 8). The invention provides that the mounting pipe (2) is formed in the mounting area (13) at least in sections such that a hollow space (23) is formed between at least two opposing circumferential sections (16, 17) of the mounting pipe (2).
