[origin: WO2009046773A1] Method of providing a fitting (3) on a container (1), the fitting being provided with a riser tube (4) which extends into the container, characterized by the following steps: - making available the respective fitting without a riser tube, - separating off from a tubular or hose-like raw material or starting material a length which is required for the riser tube, - connecting the riser-tube-forming length to the respective fitting and - positioning the fitting on the container, with the riser tube being introduced into the container interior and the fitting being connected to the container.
