Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009047091A1] The invention relates to an injector (1) for injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, particularly a common rail injector, having an injection valve element (10) that can be adjusted between a closed position and an open position in the axial direction as a function of the pressure in a control chamber (22), wherein the control chamber (22) can be connected to an injector return connection (7) by means of a control valve (29) having an adjustable valve sleeve (28), and wherein the valve sleeve (28) is operatively connected to an armature plate (31), which interacts with an electromagnetic actuator (31) for adjusting the valve sleeve (28). The invention provides that a channel (40) extending in the axial direction is disposed within the valve sleeve (28), by means of which fuel may flow from the control chamber (22) past the armature plate (31) to the injector return connection (7) while the control valve (29) is open.
