[origin: WO2009046800A1] In the case of a flare munition which can be fired from a weapon or can be launched from an airborne vehicle, in order to reliably prevent inadvertent burning away of the flare charge, and the risk of explosion associated with this, as well as to allow safe and simple subsequent recovery of the corresponding flare body (2) the invention proposes that no pyrotechnic flare charge be used for the flare munition but an electrical flare body (2) which emits light in the visible and/or infrared wavelength range depending on its intended purpose.
