Abstract (en)

The method involves providing a drum with a set of discontinuously closable discharge openings (3) for feeding through discrete drains of the drum. The discrete drains of the drum are monitored and/or controlled by a measuring and control unit (4) based on speed of the drum. The speed of the drum is detected by the measuring and control unit using magnetic or optical sensors. A piston valve (5) is provided for feeding through of the drains through the openings. The openings are closed during the discharge after falling below a predetermined speed. An independent claim is also included for a device for separation or purification of material of mixtures in a centrifugal field of a rotating drum of a centrifuge.
