Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009033985A1] A device for the temporary height adjustment of a motor vehicle is proposed, said device in particular being attached retrospectively to a spring leg. The device is arranged around a shock absorber housing between a spring plate attached there and the lower end of a helical spring which is intended actually to come to rest on the spring plate. At its end assigned to the helical spring, the device contains its own spring plate which can be displaced in relation to the housing by means of a lifting element. The lifting element is guided with its lower end edge in an intermediate space of the housing, into which intermediate space hydraulic pressure can be conducted via a connection. As a result, the lifting element can be raised in relation to the housing of the device and, when the pressure decreases under the weight of the motor vehicle, can be lowered again. For sealing, use is made of a rod seal which is oriented in such a manner that it bears in the intermediate space with a sealing lip against the outer wall and with a sealing lip against an inner wall of the housing. It is therefore moved during an adjustment in relation to the two walls.
