Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2199303A1] A recombinant protein comprising first outer surface protein C (OspC) polypeptide and second OSpC polypeptide linked through disulfide bond, is new. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method (M1) for detecting antibodies against OspC, involves contacting a sample with the above-cited protein and detecting binding of antibodies to the protein; (2) method (M2) for diagnosing Borrelia infection, involves contacting a sample with the protein, and determining the presence or absence of binding of antibodies (possibly in the sample) to the protein, where the presence of the binding of antibodies to the protein indicates Borrelia infection; and (3) kit for the diagnosing Borrelia infection, comprising the protein. ACTIVITY : Antibacterial; Immunostimulant. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Vaccine. Test details are described but no results given.
