Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2200055A1] The apparatus has an electromagnetic actuator (1) comprising a movable armature (11) connected to a movable body and movably controlled between opening and closing positions relative to a fixed field frame (10) using a control coil (3). A detection circuit detects separation of the armature relative to the frame. A measurement unit (7) measures control current passing through the coil during the separation of armature. A processing unit (8) processes a measured control current (i1) to control the apparatus for optimizing energy consumption or carrying out diagnosis of the apparatus. An independent claim is also included for a control method for an electrical switching apparatus.
