Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009050057A1] The invention relates to a marking and/or levelling device having a light source (20), preferably a laser beam source, for projecting a light beam, which is, in particular, punctiform and/or linear and the longitudinal axis of which runs perpendicular to a reference plane (7), onto a projection plane (19). The invention provides for the device (1) to have a functional unit (5) which can be pivoted about a pivot axis (15) and about a Z axis running perpendicular to the pivot axis (15), has the light source (20) and has at least one first distance measuring device (16) for determining distances between a reference point of the functional unit (5) and the projection plane (19) at different pivot positions when pivoting the functional unit (5) about the Z axis as well as at least one evaluation unit which can be used to determine the pivot position of the functional unit (5), in which the reference plane (7) which is arranged parallel to the pivot axis (15) is oriented parallel to the projection plane (19), on the basis of the distances determined using the first distance measuring device (16).
