Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009049876A2] The present invention relates to an operating circuit for at least one light-emitting diode (7), having a switched-mode regulator circuit, which is supplied with a DC voltage and uses a switch (5) clocked by a control unit (13) to provide a supply voltage for the at least one light-emitting diode (7), and a current sensor (6, 12), connected to the control unit (13), for sensing the current flowing through the at least one light-emitting diode (7) during the turned-on phase (E) of the switch (5), the control unit (13) determining the period (toff) between the switch (5) being turned off and subsequently turned on on the basis of the current sensed by means of the current sensor (6, 12) during the turned-on phase (E). The present invention also relates to a method for operating at least one light-emitting diode (7).
