[origin: WO2009033553A1] The invention relates to a method for indicating the position of a hydraulically activated armature, comprising an actuating cylinder (1.2) for activating the armature (1.1), said actuating cylinder being connected by at least one pressure medium line (2, 3) to a control valve (4.1) by means of which the pressure medium line may be switched between a pressure-conducting forward flow and a pressure-free return flow, wherein the flow through the pressure medium line is converted into a number of electrical pulses and the number of pulses reflecting the flow is processed in a program of a display unit (6) such that the number of pulses occurring in the case of a predetermined control path with a pressure-free flow in the pressure medium line is calculated as the same control path when the pressure medium line is connected as a pressure line.
