Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2204495A2] The device (1) has longitudinal retaining elements (9) fixed to top ends of rods (8) of an upper retaining unit (3). The rods have C-shaped metallic section whose resistance is such that the rods are folded downwards due to folding of a post (5) of a safety barrier and folded upwards due to an effect of longitudinal pulling of the retaining elements to maintain the retaining elements at initial position, in case of an impact with a vehicle. The folding and the fixation of the rods assure that final front-rear deformation of the device in case of impact corresponds to the folding of the post. The post is made of C100 metal section or C80 metal section.
