Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2009052775A1] The invention relates to a method and an installation for cleaning flue gases from power generating plants fired with fossil fuels, in particular power generating plants operating by the oxyfuel process, comprising a number of absorption stages with an absorber (2), in the upper region of which at least one contact mounting level is arranged, impinged with a suspension (12) and flowed through by the untreated gas (1), and the lower region of the absorber (2) has an absorption suspension sump (30), over which the feed for the untreated gas (1) is arranged, a separate reaction vessel (4), comprising two chambers (4.1, 4.2) separated by a dividing wall (29) with an overflow, the first chamber (4.1) of which is in connection with the sump of the absorption suspension (30) and into which oxidation air (22) is introduced, and in the lower region of which an opening for discharging suspension is arranged, and the second chamber (4.2) of which is in connection with a lime/limestone suspension vessel (6), a gas flue (10) over the reaction vessel (14), which sucks away the vapours of the reaction vessel (4) into a vapour flue (14), a line (12) for absorption suspension between at least one spraying level (19) of the absorber (2) and the reaction vessel (4), a process water feed (15) to a cleaning level (32) above at least one mist collector level (20, 31) above the mounting level and the spraying level (19). The invention has the advantage that CO2 enrichment in the flue gas is avoided by efficient separation of the harmful gases and pollutants and the feeding in of air in the flue gas cleaning stage, wherein better and lower-cost flue gas cleaning is achieved by improving the absorption suspension and by improved process control.
