The latch mechanism has a catch (5) which is movable along a control cam, and is prestressed by a spring in a receptacle on the control cam in a locking position. A stopping bevel is formed adjacent to the locking position for the catch. A run-off area is formed on the control cam for the catch, in which the catch is moved away from the receptacle. An independent claim is also included for furniture with a furniture body.

Ein Rastmechanismus, insbesondere für eine Auszugsführung, ist gezeigt, mit einem Mitnehmer (16), der entlang einer Steuerkurve (21) bewegbar ist, und in einer Rastposition über eine Feder (12) in eine Aufnahme (22) an der Steuerkurve (21) vorgespannt ist, wobei benachbart zu der Rastposition mindestens eine Anlaufschräge (29) für den Mitnehmer (16) ausgebildet ist, wobei benachbart zu der Anlaufschräge (29) eine Auslaufzone (24, 24', 24", 25, 25', 25") für den Mitnehmer (16) an der Steuerkurve (21) ausgebildet ist, in die der Mitnehmer (16) weg von der Aufnahme (22) bewegbar ist.
