[origin: WO2009049783A1] The invention relates to a seat device, particularly an airplane seat device, comprising a bearing unit (10) and a seat unit (12) supported movably by means of the bearing unit (10), said seat unit having a locking unit (20) for locking the seat unit (12) in at least one position and having an overload protection unit (14), which enables a movement of the seat unit (12) in the event of an overload. It is proposed to provide the overload protection unit (14) with a delay unit (16), which is intended to bring about a delay at least for a majority of the overload path (18).
